About Mark

Country Sports Photography

Mark Lord Friends and family would say that if you sliced Mark in half he would have photographer written through him like a stick of rock. Since he first picked up a camera aged 8 it's been a life long love of his. He was lucky enough to grow up in Cornwall and would spend his weekends photographing the landscapes & people of his home county. It also meant that he was close to the prestigious Falmouth College of Arts where he achieved a BA Hons in Photography in 1999.

Staying in his home county meant he was also able to enjoy his love of shooting after first going out rabbiting with his cousin Francis when he was 11. After graduating from Falmouth he moved 'up country' and worked within the influential family portrait brand Venture in one of their flagship studios in the picturesque market town of Marlow where he was Style Director. After leaving Venture he was approached to assist in the set up of the next generation of portrait studios Imagine which was in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

He has had his own business for the last 10 years capturing the most important days in people's lives weddings, christenings and family events. All the while in his spare time he continued to enjoy shooting and beating for several local shoots; all the while with a camera in his pocket! A countryman at heart he has now finally been able to put his favourite two pastimes together by adding country sports to his repertoire. The Sporting Picture has gone from strength to strength & Mark is extremely proud to be to The official photographer for both E.J. Churchill, on the West Wycombe Estate with the prestigious shooting ground and sporting agency & The Princes Countryside Fund; The Prince of Wales' charity supporting rural communities.
